Homemade Barbeque
There is nothing like a good old fashioned barbeque. This is my go-to recipe for birthday, confirmation, graduation parties, and any pot luck or get together. Double, triple, as much as you like. Use the leftovers for coney dogs, or serve hot dogs in addition to the barbeque at the party with a variety of buns. There really isn’t a lot of “sloppy” in these sloppy joe-esque sandwiches, but the flavor is WOW! Make it from scratch and ditch the preservatives in that can of Manwich. (Even better if you make your own ketchup!)
These will definitely make it into the regular rotation at your house. Enjoy!
1 pound ground beef
1 onion, shredded
¾ C ketchup
3 Tbsp yellow mustard
3 Tbsp packed brown sugar
1 tsp chili powder
¼ tsp red pepper flake
¼ tsp black pepper
Crumble and brown ground beef in skillet. Combine remaining ingredients and mix into skillet. Heat thoroughly. Easy to double over and over for large parties. Stays in a slow cooker well.
