Holiday Cheeseballs
Instead of the old stand-by meat and cheese tray this year why not whip together a beautiful cheese ball to display on your appetizer table? They are simple to create, delicious and there are a variety of flavors you can make for any occasion!
I’ve included a few of my favorite recipes to get you started…but as always I encourage you to tailor to your families taste.
The Traditional Cheeseball
8 oz cream cheese, softened
4 oz sharp cheddar cheese, finely shredded
2 oz green onions, rinsed and finely chopped
2 Tbsp onion, finely chopped
1 tsp garlic, minced
3 dashes Worcestershire sauce
4 oz pecans, finely chopped
The Luau Cheeseball
8 oz cream cheese, softened
4 oz crushed pineapple (drained)
1 bunch green onions, finely chopped
½ Tbsp Pleasoning (seasoning salt)
4 oz pecans, finely chopped
The Christmas Cheeseball
8 oz cream cheese, softened
4 oz cheddar cheese, finely shredded
2 oz dried cranberries, chopped
2 oz raisins, chopped
2 oz red onions, finely chopped
1 tsp seasoning salt
4 oz walnuts, finely chopped
The Harvest Cheeseball
8 oz cream cheese, softened
4 oz cheddar cheese, finely shredded
½ med red bell pepper, finely chopped
1 clove garlic minced
1 tsp seasoning salt
Whole almonds to form pinecone design
Instructions:
Take all ingredients and combine well.
Shape to desired form (be creative!) the standard ball, a wreath, pinecone, carrot, ect….
Roll in chopped nuts
Wrap in plastic.
Refrigerate at least 4 hours before serving to set.
